広島平和資料館では、被爆者の遺品や原子爆弾投下後の惨状を示す写真や資料を展示しています。

広島に原子爆弾が投下されたのは、1945（昭和20）年８月6日午前8時15分のことです。爆発の瞬間、強烈な熱線と放射線が拡散し、爆心地から2km以内に存在していたものはほとんどすべて、一瞬のうちに破壊され、焼き尽くされました。
