Art collective TeamLab transforms the heart of Fukuoka's castle ruins with a new digital art display of interactive light set against the beautiful stone wall ruins in Fukuoka city's Maizuru Park.
Built over a period of seven years from 1601, Fukuoka Castle is the largest castle in Kyushu. Often referred to as the Stone Castle, its center the Honmaru, Ninomaru and Sannomaru palaces were made up entirely of stone walls. The beautiful four layers of stone walls make this vast site a magnificent national historic treasure.
This exhibition is a part of a wider TeamLab art project called “Digitized Nature, Digitized City”, which explores how non-material digital art can turn nature and cities into art without harming them.
