Star Wars fans visiting Japan will soon have a new destination to add to their itinerary, with Japan's first permanent official Star Wars store opening in Tokyo this autumn, followed by a second location in Osaka soon thereafter.
STAR WARS STORE by BENELIC will open at Ikebukuro PARCO in Tokyo on October 1, 2026, ahead of the franchise's 50th anniversary in 2027. A second store is scheduled to open at LUCUA South in Osaka in November.
For inbound travelers, the stores offer something a little more interesting than simply picking up Star Wars merchandise. The concept is designed to feel like stepping into a galaxy far, far away, with the store's distinctive yellow logo inspired by the opening crawl from the films.
There will be a wide range of Star Wars goods, along with an interactive merchandise area where visitors can customize selected items using their favorite designs. More details about the merchandise and experiences are expected to be announced closer to the openings.
The Tokyo store will be located on the sixth floor of Ikebukuro PARCO, making it an easy stop for visitors exploring one of Tokyo's major shopping and entertainment districts. In Osaka, the store will be part of LUCUA Characters World in the LUCUA South complex near Umeda.
With locations in both Tokyo and Osaka, Star Wars fans won't need to go far out of their way to visit. And with the 50th anniversary approaching, these stores could be particularly tempting stops for anyone looking to take home a distinctly Japanese Star Wars souvenir.
