Snoopy is getting a bathhouse makeover this summer, with a limited-time collaboration bringing the world of PEANUTS to one of Shibuya's long-established public baths.
From August 16 to 31, 2026, Kairyo-yu will become "Snoopy's Bath" as part of the second installment of the "Enjoying PEANUTS After the Sauna" project, a collaboration between PEANUTS and Sauna Ikitai.
The 100-year-old bathhouse will be transformed throughout, with PEANUTS designs appearing from the entrance and changing rooms to the bathing areas. Visitors can see large graphics and comic panels featuring the "PEANUTS I LIKE…" message, as well as an original bathtub inspired by Snoopy.
The event is free to participate in and does not require advance reservations, although visitors will need to pay the regular bathing fee. The first visitors who follow the official PEANUTS X or Instagram accounts can also receive a limited-edition collaboration fan, but only while supplies last.
For travelers looking for a more local experience in Tokyo, the event offers a fun excuse to step away from the usual sightseeing route and experience a Japanese sento. Kairyo-yu dates back to 1916 and is about a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station, making it relatively easy to add to a day exploring the area.
The collaboration also extends beyond the bathhouse. PEANUTS Cafe SUNNY SIDE KITCHEN in Harajuku will offer two Snoopy-inspired ginger sodas from August 15, while PEANUTS and Sauna Ikitai merchandise, including T-shirts and sauna hats, will go on sale online from the same date.
