Hello Kitty fans visiting Tokyo this autumn will have a new reason to head to Omotesando, where a limited-time experiential lounge will invite visitors to express their personal style, create music, and connect through their shared interests.

“Hello Kitty's Lounge” will be held at Omotesando Hills Space O from October 28 to November 8, 2026. The free event is the second Japanese instalment of Sanrio's global branding campaign, which centers on togetherness and the idea that people can connect by appreciating one another's different tastes and values.

Visitors can explore three main interactive experiences. At the Beats Bar, guests scan QR codes representing sounds they like and combine them to create their own background music. They can also listen to musical creations made by other visitors, potentially discovering new favorites along the way.

At the Ribbon Atelier, visitors can choose their preferred ribbons and make an original scrunchie. A dedicated photo area will also offer opportunities to pose with Hello Kitty, including a bench-style photo booth and a window-themed installation. Limited quantities of scrunchies and certain gifts are available, with a mascot chain offered to visitors who post about the event on social media while stocks last.

A shop will sell new fashion-inspired Hello Kitty merchandise, including the Sanrio Closet Collection and the Hello Kitty's Favorite Design Series, featuring her signature pink ribbon. The latter collection will be available for purchase at the venue ahead of its wider release on October 29.

The event runs from 11am to 8pm daily, with last entry at 7:30pm. Opening on October 28 is restricted to visitors with advance reservations, and reservations receive priority throughout the event. Walk-in entry is subject to availability. Although admission is free, visitors should check the official website for booking details before attending.

For travelers exploring Tokyo's shopping and fashion districts, the lounge offers a chance to experience Hello Kitty beyond the usual merchandise displays, with creative activities inspired by the character's message of kindness and connection.
