Daidogei World Cup: On the Streets

Shizuoka City's annual street performance festival

Held every November in Shizuoka City, the Daidogei World Cup is a four-day festival of international street performance. Much of the action takes place on the city's streets, with aerialists, musicians, clowns, dancers, stilt-walkers, and plenty more, as well as legions of local volunteer clowns. There are also face-painting and make-up booths, and the streets are lined with stands as local stores join in the party.
